Chef Mo  - Executive Chef

eat's Executive Chef is Leslie Monique Porche-Smith, Chef Mo, as her students have coined her. Chef Mo is a southern Louisiana native and a 27 year Georgia resident, the last 18 years being in Cherokee County, GA. She and her husband of 26 years are parents to a high school boy, middle school girl and a Maltese Shihzhu. Chef Mo is a product of Louisiana’s universities, worked decades in corporate America and some years in the entertainment industry with major recording artists, when in her early 30s, she submitted to her real passion and enrolled in culinary school.

Now with associates, bachelors and masters of management degrees to her credit, she’s enjoyed 16 rewarding years in collegiate culinary education. She’s been featured in healthy living cookbooks for the National Cancer Institute, been featured on two Food Network TV shows (one specifically about her and her personal chef business), shot a recent TV cooking show pilot with a major Atlanta TV producer, and was one of 1000 chosen to compete with 10 others in Napa, California for the Sutter Homes Winery “Build a Better Burger” contest. Her entry was a bayou shrimp and crawfish burger with balsamic spinach slaw and this famed burger is sure to make a cameo at eat. Chef Mo is incredibly excited to feed those ready to eat at eat. Chef Mo loves Mexican food, nachos, meat and potatoes, ice cream, oxtails, chips and dip, and pizza rolls.

Jackson- Sous Chef

Jackson was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, an Army brat, but considers himself a Georgia native nearly 50 years. He is proud husband of 26 years to his business partner Chef Mo and doting dad to their high school freshman son and middle school daughter.  A product of Fulton County schools and Morehouse College, Jackson dabbled in the corporate world, then got to follow a passion of his in fashion when he toured with top name recording acts, his last being with Sade. After a decade stint in cancer research at a prestigious medical school, and homeschooling he and Chef Mo's two kids (his most rewarding job) for 5 years, he settled back into the work world and served in the public school system. Then came eat! Truth be told, Jackson cooks more than his highly credentialed spouse, and she loves it. Jackson loves Asian cuisine, especially Thai. And french fries! He is a 25 year pescatarian.
